Spectators at Saturday's non-league match between the Burleson Elks (Burleson, TX) and the visiting Franklin Cougars (El Paso, TX), witnessed Burleson's softball squad prevail over Franklin by a count of 13-5.

The Elks now sport a 2-2 record. They play next when they travel to Centennial for a 5A Region I District 8 match on Tuesday, February 20. Burleson will meet a Spartans squad coming off a 9-0 non-league loss to Fossil Ridge (Keller, TX). The Spartans record now stands at 5-1.

With the loss, Franklin moves to 1-6 on the season. The Cougars travel to Lake Travis (Austin, TX) to meet the Cavaliers in a non-league match on Saturday, February 17. The Cavaliers go into the match with a record of 2-3. Lake Travis lost 3-2 in their recent non-league match against London (Corpus Christi, TX)
