Lopez Lobos (Brownsville, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Calhoun Sandcrabs (Port Lavaca, TX), 8-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Lobos now own a 4-0 record. They take the field next when they host Weslaco East for a 5A Region IV District 32 challenge on Tuesday, February 20. Lopez will battle a Wildcats squad coming off a 19-0 non-league win over Austin (El Paso, TX). The Wildcats record now stands at 2-2.

With the loss, Calhoun falls to 1-2 on the campaign. The Sandcrabs travel to Victoria West (Victoria, TX) to battle the Warriors in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, February 20. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 1-6. Victoria West lost 14-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Foster (Richmond, TX)
