Hyde Park Panthers (Austin, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Madison Mavericks (San Antonio, TX), 6-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 8-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Southside for a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 17. Hyde Park will battle a Cardinals squad coming off a 12-6 non-league win over Pieper (San Antonio, TX). The Cardinals record now stands at 3-2.

With the loss, Madison falls to 1-3 on the campaign. The Mavericks travel to SA Roosevelt (San Antonio, TX) to battle the Rough Riders in a 6A Region IV District 28 challenge on Tuesday, February 20. The Rough Riders enter the challenge with a record of 0-5. SA Roosevelt lost 18-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Harlandale (San Antonio, TX)
