Magnolia West Mustangs (Magnolia, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Manvel Mavericks (Manvel, TX), 8-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 5-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Barbers Hill for a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 17. Magnolia West will battle a Eagles squad coming off a 4-1 non-league loss to Cedar Ridge (Round Rock, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 4-1.

With the loss, Manvel falls to 4-3 on the campaign. The Mavericks host Dickinson (Dickinson, TX) to battle the Gators in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, February 20. The Gators enter the challenge with a record of 2-0. Dickinson won 13-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Franklin (El Paso, TX)
