Newman Smith Trojans (Carrollton, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting West Mesquite Wranglers (Mesquite, TX), 12-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Trojans now own a 3-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Brownsboro for a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 17. Newman Smith will battle a Bears squad coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to North Forney (Forney, TX). The Bears record now stands at 1-3.

With the loss, West Mesquite falls to 2-5 on the campaign. The Wranglers travel to Ranchview (Irving, TX) to battle the Wolves in a non-league challenge on Thursday, February 29. The Wolves enter the challenge with a record of 4-5.
