In Monday's non-league contest, the host East St. John Wildcats basketball team scored a close 63-59 triumph over the Ascension Christian .
The Wildcats (20-25) will now prepare for their contest against Bourgeois (Gray, LA). The Braves go into the 5A District 8 contest with a 30-18 record. In their last contest, Bourgeois nipped Central Lafourche (Raceland, LA), 64-39, in a league contest.
In their next game, the confront the St. Martin's Episcopal Saints (Metairie, LA) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, February 18. Ascension Christian will attempt to better on its 17-14 season record. The Saints go into the contest with a 14-9 record after their 75-50 non-league loss to Thomas Jefferson (Gretna, LA).
