Heyworth Hornets (Heyworth, IL) supporters left the game happy Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad run past the host Meridian Hawks (Macon, IL), 63-52 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Heyworth advances its record to 13-16 on the year. The Hornets host Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley (Gibson City, IL) to face the Falcons in a Heart of Illinois match on Tuesday, February 18. The Falcons enter the match with a record of 16-11. Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley lost 54-44 in their recent league match against Tri-Valley (Downs, IL)

The Hawks now own a 11-19 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Clinton for a Central Illinois match on Thursday, February 20. Meridian will face a Maroons squad coming off a 63-60 non-league loss to Tremont (Tremont, IL). The Maroons record now stands at 15-14.
