The crowd at Monday's non-league challenge between the Spring Mills Cardinals (Martinsburg, WV) and the visiting Smithsburg Leopards (Smithsburg, MD), observed Spring Mills's basketball team overcome Smithsburg by a score of 54-43.
The Cardinals (11-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Jefferson (Shenandoah Junction, WV). The Cougars come into the Eastern Panhandle challenge with a 3-14 record. In their last challenge, Jefferson dropped by Washington (Charles Town, WV), 54-43, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Leopards battle the Winters Mill Falcons (Westminster, MD) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, February 18. Smithsburg will attempt to improve on its 18-4 season record.
