In Monday's non-league match, the host Calhoun Sandcrabs softball team scored a tight 8-2 win over the Taft Greyhounds.
The Sandcrabs (6-1) will now prepare for their match against Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial (Corpus Christi, TX). The Eagles come into the non-league match with a 5-2 record. In their last match, Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial nipped Alice (Alice, TX), 12-4, in a league match.
In their next game, the Greyhounds battle the Harlingen Cardinals (Harlingen, TX) in a non-league match, on Thursday, February 20. Taft will attempt to better on its 4-3 season record. The Cardinals come into the match with a 4-3 record after their 19-6 non-league win over Edinburg (Edinburg, TX).
