The Katy Taylor Mustangs routed the host Alief Hastings Bears softball squad by a count of 13-1 in Saturday's non-league battle.

The Mustangs (5-3) will now prepare for their battle against Fort Bend Elkins (Missouri City, TX). The Knights go into the non-league battle with a 4-4 record. In their last battle, Fort Bend Elkins topped Fort Bend Clements (Sugar Land, TX), 15-0, in a league battle.

The Bears now sport a 0-5 record. They play next when they host Dawson for a 6A Region III District 23 battle on Tuesday, February 21. Alief Hastings will meet a Eagles squad coming off a 9-0 non-league win over Bryan (Bryan, TX). The Eagles record now stands at 7-0.
