In Saturday's non-league contest, the La Joya Coyotes (La Joya, TX) softball team held off the visiting Calhoun Sandcrabs (Port Lavaca, TX), by a margin of 4-3.
With the triumph, La Joya moves its record to 5-2 on the year. The Coyotes travel to Calallen (Corpus Christi, TX) to play the Wildcats in a non-league contest on Saturday, February 18. The Wildcats come into the contest with a record of 5-0. Calallen won 4-3 in their recent non-league contest against Lopez (Brownsville, TX)
In their next game, the Sandcrabs play the Victoria West Warriors (Victoria, TX) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, February 21. Calhoun will attempt to advance on its 1-5 season record. The Warriors go into the match with a 0-3 record after their 11-2 non-league loss to Santa Fe (Santa Fe, TX).
