Lake Hornets (Lake, MS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Clinton Arrows (Clinton, MS), 5-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Hornets now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Kosciusko for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, February 21. Lake will face a Whippets squad coming off a 16-12 non-league loss to Choctaw County (Ackerman, MS). The Whippets record now stands at 1-3.

With the loss, Clinton falls to 1-3 on the campaign. The Arrows host Enterprise (Enterprise, MS) to face the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 18. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 0-0.
