Texas High School Basketball - Pine Tree holds off Athens

The Pine Tree Pirates basketball team scored 55 points and limited the visiting Athens Hornets to 48 in the Pirates non-league triumph on Tuesday.

The Pirates now possess a 21-12 record. They play next when they travel to Sulphur Springs for a non-league game on Thursday, February 20. Pine Tree will confront a Wildcats team coming off a 53-41 non-league win over Community (Nevada, TX). The Wildcats record now stands at 20-12.

With the loss, Athens falls to 23-9 on the campaign.
