In Thursday's non-league game, the host Myrtle Hawks baseball team scored a close 8-1 victory over the Heritage Academy Patriots.

The Hawks (1-0) will now prepare for their game against New Albany (New Albany, MS). The Bulldogs enter the non-league game with a 3-1 record. In their last game, New Albany was overwhelmed by Olive Branch (Olive Branch, MS), 7-0, in a non-league match.

The Patriots now possess a 2-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Grenada for a non-league match on Friday, February 20. Heritage Academy will battle a Chargers squad coming off a 5-4 non-league win over Lafayette (Oxford, MS). The Chargers record now stands at 1-1.
