The Monterey Plainsmen (Lubbock, TX) softball nipped the visiting Plano East Panthers (Plano, TX), 4-3 in Thursday's non-league outing.

The Plainsmen now sport a 7-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Lovejoy for a non-league outing on Friday, February 20. Monterey will encounter a Leopards team coming off a 12-1 non-league win over Reedy (Frisco, TX). The Leopards record now stands at 7-1.

With the loss, Plano East moves to 1-5 on the season. The Panthers travel to Emerson (McKinney, TX) to encounter the Mavericks in a non-league outing on Friday, February 20.
