The Newell-Fonda Mustangs (Newell, IA) basketball crushed the visiting Cherokee Washington Braves (Cherokee, IA), 88-50 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Mustangs (13-3) will now prepare for their test against Alta-Aurelia (Alta, IA). The Warriors go into the Twin Lakes test with a 8-9 record. In their last test, Alta-Aurelia was trounced by West Bend-Mallard (West Bend, IA), 80-49, in a non-league test.
The Braves now own a 4-12 record. They play next when they travel to Sergeant Bluff-Luton for a non-league test on Monday, February 6. Cherokee Washington will encounter a Warriors squad coming off a 66-46 league loss to Bishop Heelan Catholic (Sioux City, IA). The Warriors record now stands at 11-8.
