North Boone Vikings (Poplar Grove, IL) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Genoa-Kingston Cogs (Genoa, IL), 67-63 in a league bout.

With the win, North Boone upgrades its record to 13-13 on the season. The Vikings host Winnebago (Winnebago, IL) to play the Indians in a Big Northern bout on Friday, February 3. The Indians go into the bout with a record of 14-10. Winnebago won 39-30 in their recent league bout against Genoa-Kingston (Genoa, IL)

Next up, the Cogs play the Dixon Dukes & Duchesses (Dixon, IL) in a Big Northern bout, on Friday, February 3. Genoa-Kingston will attempt to upgrade on its 9-15 season record. The Dukes & Duchesses go into the bout with a 16-9 record after their 58-36 league loss to Byron (Byron, IL).
