Anchorage Christian Lions (Anchorage, AK) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Valdez Buccaneers (Valdez, AK), 51-41 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Anchorage Christian upgrades its record to 9-8 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Palmer (Palmer, AK) to play the Moose in a 4A Northern Lights bout on Wednesday, February 8. The Moose come into the bout with a record of 1-13. Palmer won 48-38 in their recent non-league bout against Bethel (Bethel, AK)

Next up, the Buccaneers play the Grace Christian Grizzlies (Anchorage, AK) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 3. Valdez will attempt to upgrade on its 10-3 season record. The Grizzlies come into the bout with a 13-2 record after their 53-33 league win over Homer (Homer, AK).
