Verrado Vipers (Buckeye, AZ) fans were thrilled Thursday as they observed their soccer team knock off the host La Joya Community Fighting Lobos (Avondale, AZ), 3-1 in a league challenge.

Next, the Vipers face the Sierra Linda Bulldogs (Phoenix, AZ) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, February 3. Verrado will attempt to better on its 6-8 season record. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a 4-7 record after their 1-0 league win over Fairfax (Laveen, AZ).

The Fighting Lobos now have a 2-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to Desert Edge for a 5A Desert West challenge on Friday, February 3. La Joya Community will face a Scorpions team coming off a 7-0 league win over Lake Havasu (Lake Havasu City, AZ). The Scorpions record now stands at 11-3.
