The Comeaux Spartans basketball team (Lafayette, LA), was overwhelmed 65-36 in Friday's league battle with the host Southside Sharks (Youngsville, LA)

The Sharks now possess a 16-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Zachary for a non-league battle on Saturday, February 3. Southside will confront a Broncos team coming off a 69-48 league win over Woodlawn-B.R. (Baton Rouge, LA). The Broncos record now stands at 21-7.

The Spartans (10-12) will now prepare for their battle against Sulphur (Sulphur, LA). The Golden Tors come into the 5A District 3 battle with a 13-15 record. In their last battle, Sulphur was overwhelmed by New Iberia (New Iberia, LA), 50-26, in a league battle.
