Owsley County Owls / Lady Owls (Booneville, KY) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Jenkins Cavaliers (Jenkins, KY), 58-56 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Owsley County upgrades its record to 7-18 on the campaign. The Owls / Lady Owls host Whitley County (Williamsburg, KY) to play the Colonels in a non-league bout on Saturday, February 3. The Colonels come into the bout with a record of 16-6. Whitley County won 53-45 in their recent league bout against South Laurel (London, KY)

Next up, the Cavaliers play the Richlands Blue Tornado (Richlands, VA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, February 3. Jenkins will attempt to upgrade on its 15-13 season record.
