Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Walton-Verona Bearcats (Walton, KY) and the visiting Owen County Rebels (Owenton, KY), saw Walton-Verona's basketball squad wallop Owen County by a tally of 86-59.

With the victory, Walton-Verona improves its record to 16-7 on the campaign. The Bearcats host Holy Cross (Covington, KY) to confront the Indians in a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 3. The Indians come into the challenge with a record of 15-7. Holy Cross won 69-53 in their recent non-league challenge against Grant County (Dry Ridge, KY)

Next up, the Rebels confront the Trimble County Raiders (Bedford, KY) in a District 31 challenge, on Monday, February 5. Owen County will attempt to improve on its 14-9 season record. The Raiders come into the challenge with a 4-17 record after their 75-59 league loss to Henry County (New Castle, KY).
