The Sandhills Valley Mavericks basketball team (Stapleton, NE), was nudged 40-39 in Friday's non-league battle with the host Paxton Tigers (Paxton, NE)

The Tigers now possess a 12-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Hershey for a non-league battle on Tuesday, February 6. Paxton will confront a Panthers team coming off a 62-29 non-league loss to Grand Island Central Catholic (Grand Island, NE). The Panthers record now stands at 5-13.

The Mavericks (10-8) will now prepare for their battle against Cozad (Cozad, NE). The Haymakers come into the non-league battle with a 16-4 record.
