Nevada High School Basketball - Palo Verde beaten by Cimarron-Memorial

In Friday's non-league match, the host Cimarron-Memorial Spartans basketball team scored a good 57-43 triumph over the Palo Verde Panthers.
In their next game, the Spartans meet the Chaparral Cowboys (Las Vegas, NV) in a match, on Tuesday, February 6. Cimarron-Memorial will attempt to move on its 7-12 season record. The Cowboys enter the match with a 1-6 record after their 45-43 non-league loss to Legacy (North Las Vegas, NV).
With the defeat, Palo Verde moves to 1-5 on the year. The Panthers host Canyon Springs (North Las Vegas, NV) to meet the Pioneers in a non-league match on Tuesday, February 6. The Pioneers enter the match with a record of 2-1.
First Quarter
In the 1st Quarter Palo Verde & Cimarron battled back & forth. Point Guard Isaak Salazar hit 2 - # Point Shots to carry the Spartans, who lead 15 to 14 as the period came to an end.
Second Quarter
In the 2nd Quarter Palo Verde out played Cimarron & outscored them 12 to 6 taking a 26 to 21 lead into halftime. In the Quarter The Spartans missed many open point blank layups, & were relying on the officials to make calls, which is never something to lean on.
Third Quarter
In the 3rd Quarter the Spartans made a comeback once again & were lead by Center Rashad Moore who had 3 baskets for 6 Points as Cimarron tied the game 35 to 35 entering the final Quarter.
Fourth Quarter
In the 4th Quarter the Spartans pressure defense once again is what sealed their victory. They outscored rival Palo Verde 22 to 8. Lead by Point Guard Isaac Salazar & his 2 late 3 Point Buckets, with an additional 3 Point Shot by Joseph Noel, & a last second 3 by Guard Cedric Williams pushed the Spartans to a 57 to 43 Victory.
Center Rashad Moore had 17 Points & 12 Rebounds
Guard Isaak Salazar finished with 12 Points (including 4 - 3 Point Field Goals)
Forward Marcus Broughton finished with 9 Points
Guard Joseph Noel finished with 8 Points & 5 Rebounds
Guard Mahshad Jordan finished with 6 Points 6 Rebounds & 8 Assists
After the game Coach Shkorupa had this to say: "These Boys had another exciting comeback & fought & clawed to win this one. Once again their continuous pressure defense truly wore out our opponent, which is a very well Coached Team, with many great players. Isaak & Joseph hit some clutch shots, Rashad kept us in the game through out with his scoring & rebounding".
