In Friday's non-league outing, the Newport Central Catholic Thoroughbreds (Newport, KY) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Beechwood Tigers (Fort Mitchell, KY), by a count of 63-34.

The Thoroughbreds (15-7) will now prepare for their outing against Bellevue (Bellevue, KY). The Tigers go into the District 36 outing with a 16-5 record. In their last outing, Bellevue smashed Newport (Newport, KY), 68-36, in a league outing.

The Tigers now hold a 7-15 record. They play next when they travel to Boone County for a non-league outing on Tuesday, February 6. Beechwood will clash with a Rebels squad coming off a 56-49 non-league win over Oldham County (Buckner, KY). The Rebels record now stands at 4-17.
