Southside Sharks (Youngsville, LA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Comeaux Spartans (Lafayette, LA), 65-17 in a league bout.

With the win, Southside upgrades its record to 25-3 on the season. The Sharks travel to Lafayette (Lafayette, LA) to play the Lions in a 5A District 3 bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 12-9. Lafayette won 23-22 in their recent league bout against Acadiana (Lafayette, LA)

Next up, the Spartans play the Sulphur Golden Tors (Sulphur, LA) in a 5A District 3 bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Comeaux will attempt to upgrade on its 2-16 season record. The Golden Tors go into the bout with a 13-16 record after their 47-25 league win over New Iberia (New Iberia, LA).
