Virginia High School Basketball - Meridian holds off Heritage

Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Meridian Mustangs (Falls Church, VA) and the visiting Heritage Pride (Leesburg, VA), saw Meridian's basketball squad hold off Heritage by a tally of 48-46.
With the victory, Meridian improves its record to 14-4 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Skyline (Front Royal, VA) to confront the Hawks in a Northwestern challenge on Monday, February 5. The Hawks come into the challenge with a record of 8-13. Skyline won 63-51 in their recent league challenge against Liberty (Bealeton, VA)
Next up, the Pride confront the Tuscarora Huskies (Leesburg, VA) in a Dulles challenge, on Monday, February 5. Heritage will attempt to improve on its 9-8 season record. The Huskies come into the challenge with a 11-4 record after their 49-37 league win over Heritage (Leesburg, VA).
Fourth Quarter
The Fourth Quarter was nip and tuck to the end. Maureen Tremblay and Charlotte Lieu hit key free throws down the stretch. The Mustangs sealed the victory with a key defensive stop at the end as Zoe Gale defened against Heritage's last second attempt to tie the game that missed.
