Smoky Valley Vikings (Lindsborg, KS) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Nickerson Panthers (Nickerson, KS), 51-35 in a league bout.

With the win, Smoky Valley upgrades its record to 9-5 on the season. The Vikings travel to Hoisington (Hoisington, KS) to clash with the Cardinals in a Central Kansas bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Cardinals go into the bout with a record of 10-4. Hoisington won 52-32 in their recent non-league bout against Pratt (Pratt, KS)

Next up, the Panthers clash with the Lyons Lions (Lyons, KS) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Nickerson will attempt to upgrade on its 3-12 season record. The Lions go into the bout with a 1-13 record after their 60-32 non-league loss to Haven (Haven, KS).
