Ouachita Parish Lions (Monroe, LA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting West Ouachita Chiefs (West Monroe, LA), 64-45 in a league bout.

With the win, Ouachita Parish upgrades its record to 16-12 on the season. The Lions travel to Ruston (Ruston, LA) to clash with the Bearcats in a 5A District 2 bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Bearcats go into the bout with a record of 19-8. Ruston won 71-38 in their recent league bout against Alexandria (Alexandria, LA)

Next up, the Chiefs clash with the Pineville Rebels (Pineville, LA) in a 5A District 2 bout, on Friday, February 9. West Ouachita will attempt to upgrade on its 7-19 season record.
