In Friday's non-league test, the visiting Sartell-St. Stephen Sabres ice hockey team scored a tight 5-3 win over the Denfeld Hunters.
The Sabres (12-4) will now prepare for their test against Brainerd (Brainerd, MN). The Warriors enter the Central Lakes test with a 7-11 record. In their last test, Brainerd by Rock Ridge co-op [Eveleth-Gilbert/Virginia] (Eveleth, MN), 4-2, in a non-league test.
Next up, the Hunters encounter the Alexandria Cardinals (Alexandria, MN) in a non-league test, on Saturday, February 3. Denfeld will attempt to advance on its 7-9 season record. The Cardinals enter the test with a 8-7 record after their 10-1 league win over Sauk Rapids-Rice (Sauk Rapids, MN).
