JV Opponent (, ) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting The New Community School Sabers (Richmond, VA), 43-35 in a non-league bout.

With the win, JV Opponent upgrades its record to 195-470 on the season. The travel to Horicon (Horicon, WI) to clash with the Marshmen in a bout on Friday, February 2. The Marshmen go into the bout with a record of 8-4. Horicon won 54-23 in their recent league bout against Hustisford (Hustisford, WI)

Next up, the Sabers clash with the Yeshiva of Virginia (Richmond, VA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 6. The New Community School will attempt to upgrade on its 1-11 season record. The go into the bout with a 2-1 record after their 54-33 league loss to West End Christian (Hopewell, VA).
