The Staples-Motley Cardinals (Staples, MN) basketball nipped the visiting Parkers Prairie Panthers (Parkers Prairie, MN), 43-41 in Monday's non-league test.
The Cardinals (6-15) will now prepare for their test against Crosby-Ironton (Crosby, MN). The Rangers go into the AA Section 7 test with a 17-7 record. In their last test, Crosby-Ironton got by New London-Spicer (New London, MN), 59-58, in a non-league test.
The Panthers now own a 9-11 record. They play next when they host Henning for a A Section 6 test on Thursday, February 23. Parkers Prairie will encounter a Hornets squad coming off a 44-41 league loss to Underwood (Underwood, MN). The Hornets record now stands at 22-2.
