Douglass Indians (Douglass, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Hawkins Hawks (Hawkins, TX), 51-44 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Douglass upgrades its record to 26-6 on the campaign. The Indians travel to Marlin (Marlin, TX) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league bout on Friday, February 23. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 22-8. Marlin won 57-48 in their recent non-league bout against LaPoynor (LaRue, TX)
