Spruce Mountain Phoenix (Jay, ME) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Medomak Valley Panthers (Waldoboro, ME), 40-34 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Spruce Mountain upgrades its record to 18-2 on the season. The Phoenix travel to Oceanside (Rockland, ME) to play the Mariners in a non-league bout on Friday, February 23. The Mariners go into the bout with a record of 20-0. Oceanside won 53-37 in their recent non-league bout against Lake Region (Naples, ME)
