The crowd at Tuesday's non-league match between the Maud Cardinals (Maud, TX) and the visiting Pewitt Brahmas (Omaha, TX), saw Maud's softball squad nip Pewitt by a count of 12-7.

The Cardinals now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Union Hill for a non-league challenge on Thursday, February 22.

With the loss, Pewitt falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Brahmas host Queen City (Queen City, TX) to battle the Bulldogs in a 3A Region II District 14 challenge on Tuesday, February 27. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 3-0.
