Texas High School Softball - Elgin gets by New Braunfels

Spectators at Tuesday's non-league match between the Elgin Wildcats (Elgin, TX) and the visiting New Braunfels Unicorns (New Braunfels, TX), witnessed Elgin's softball squad tip New Braunfels by a count of 2-1.

The Wildcats now sport a 5-3 record. They play next when they travel to Madison for a non-league match on Thursday, February 23. Elgin will meet a Mavericks squad coming off a 17-2 league win over SA Roosevelt (San Antonio, TX). The Mavericks record now stands at 5-3.

With the loss, New Braunfels moves to 1-6 on the season. The Unicorns travel to San Benito (San Benito, TX) to meet the Greyhounds in a non-league match on Thursday, February 23. The Greyhounds go into the match with a record of 7-0. San Benito won 3-1 in their recent non-league match against Sinton (Sinton, TX)
