In Wednesday's non-league match, the visiting Gibault Catholic Hawks basketball team scored a good 40-23 triumph over the Trico Pioneers.
In their next game, the Hawks meet the New Athens Yellow Jackets (New Athens, IL) in a non-league match, on Friday, February 23. Gibault Catholic will attempt to move on its 19-14 season record. The Yellow Jackets enter the match with a 15-16 record after their 47-39 non-league win over Steeleville (Steeleville, IL).
With the defeat, Trico moves to 6-25 on the year.
