In Friday's non-league contest, the host Prestonsburg Blackcats basketball team scored a good 63-52 triumph over the Perry County Central Commodores.
The Blackcats (17-13) will now prepare for their contest against Floyd Central (Eastern, KY). The Jaguars go into the non-league contest with a 17-9 record. In their last contest, Floyd Central was toppled by Letcher County Central (Whitesburg, KY), 67-60, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Commodores confront the Leslie County Eagles (Hyden, KY) in a District 54 contest, on Monday, February 24. Perry County Central will attempt to better on its 17-11 season record.
