Texas High School Softball - Zapata edges Del Rio

The Zapata Hawks softball team scored 9 runs and held the host Del Rio Rams to 7 in the Hawks non-league win on Friday.

The Hawks now possess a 3-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Ray for a non-league battle on Friday, February 21. Zapata will confront a Texans team coming off a 12-5 league loss to Miller (Corpus Christi, TX). The Texans record now stands at 2-6.

With the loss, Del Rio moves to 3-8 on the season. The Rams host Laredo LBJ (Laredo, TX) to confront the Wolves in a 6A Region IV District 30 battle on Tuesday, February 25. The Wolves come into the battle with a record of 8-2. Laredo LBJ won 9-3 in their recent non-league battle against Hebbronville (Hebbronville, TX)
