In Tuesday's non-league battle, the host Van Nuys Wolves volleyball team scored a tight 2-1 triumph over the Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences Vipers.
The Wolves (2-0) will now prepare for their battle against Sylmar (Sylmar, CA). The Spartans come into the battle with a 0-0 record.
