Pleasant Grove Spartans (Pleasant Grove, AL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Clay-Chalkville Cougars (Pinson, AL), 8-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Minor for a non-league challenge on Thursday, February 24.

With the loss, Clay-Chalkville falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Shades Valley (Birmingham, AL) to battle the Mounties in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 1. The Mounties enter the challenge with a record of 0-0.
