In Thursday's non-league outing, the South Laurel Cardinals (London, KY) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Estill County Engineers (Irvine, KY), by a count of 65-26.
The Cardinals (18-12) will now prepare for their outing against Whitley County (Williamsburg, KY). The Colonels go into the District 50 outing with a 16-13 record. In their last outing, Whitley County was crushed by Wayne County (Monticello, KY), 49-35, in a non-league outing.
The Engineers now hold a 12-17 record. They play next when they host Williamsburg for a non-league outing on Saturday, February 24. Estill County will clash with a Yellowjackets squad coming off a 62-57 non-league win over McCreary Central (Stearns, KY). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 7-22.
