The Newhalen Malamutes basketball team scored 82 points and restricted the host Kalskag Grizzly Bears to 25 in the Malamutes non-league victory on Thursday.

The Malamutes now sport a 22-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Aniak for a non-league contest on Friday, February 23. Newhalen will battle a Halfbreeds team coming off a 52-46 non-league loss to Tok (Tok, AK). The Halfbreeds record now stands at 10-9.

The Grizzly Bears (6-8) will now prepare for their contest against Tanalian (Port Alsworth, AK). The Lynx come into the non-league contest with a 14-10 record. In their last contest, Tanalian triumphed over Tuluksak (Tuluksak, AK), 62-28, in a non-league contest.
