Texas City Stingarees (Texas City, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Clear Brook Wolverines (Friendswood, TX), 9-7 in a non-league challenge.

The Stingarees now own a 9-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Langham Creek for a non-league challenge on Thursday, February 22. Texas City will battle a Lobos squad coming off a 2-1 league win over Bridgeland (Cypress, TX). The Lobos record now stands at 6-2.

With the loss, Clear Brook falls to 4-4 on the campaign. The Wolverines travel to Calallen (Corpus Christi, TX) to battle the Wildcats in a non-league challenge on Thursday, February 22. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 4-0. Calallen won 7-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Santa Gertrudis Academy (Kingsville, TX)
