George Ranch Longhorns (Richmond, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Columbia Roughnecks (West Columbia, TX), 6-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Longhorns now own a 8-1 record. They take the field next when they host Fort Bend Travis for a 6A Region III District 20 challenge on Tuesday, February 27. George Ranch will battle a Tigers squad coming off a 3-1 league win over Fort Bend Dulles (Sugar Land, TX). The Tigers record now stands at 4-4.

With the loss, Columbia falls to 4-1 on the campaign. The Roughnecks host Sealy (Sealy, TX) to battle the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 24. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 7-7. Sealy won 16-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Cypress Park (Cypress, TX)
