The Pine Tree Pirates softball squad scored 8 runs and restricted the host Lufkin Panthers to 1 in the Pirates non-league victory on Thursday.
The Pirates (7-2) will now prepare for their battle against Tyler (Tyler, TX). The Lions go into the non-league battle with a 0-6 record. In their last battle, Tyler was routed by LaPoynor (LaRue, TX), 10-4, in a non-league battle.
