Spectators at Thursday's non-league match between the New Waverly Bulldogs (New Waverly, TX) and the visiting Snook Bluejays (Snook, TX), witnessed New Waverly's softball squad tip Snook by a count of 4-2.

The Bulldogs now sport a 1-4 record. They play next when they travel to Coldspring-Oakhurst for a 3A Region III District 23 match on Tuesday, March 5.

With the loss, Snook moves to 1-5 on the season. The Bluejays travel to Leon (Jewett, TX) to face the Cougars in a non-league match on Friday, February 23. The Cougars go into the match with a record of 0-2. Leon lost 18-3 in their recent non-league match against Coldspring-Oakhurst (Coldspring, TX)
