River Road Wildcats (Amarillo, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Northwest Texans (Justin, TX), 5-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 4-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Crandall for a non-league challenge on Friday, February 23. River Road will battle a Pirates squad coming off a 8-1 non-league loss to Argyle (Argyle, TX). The Pirates record now stands at 2-6.

With the loss, Northwest falls to 2-5 on the campaign. The Texans travel to Paschal (Fort Worth, TX) to battle the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Thursday, February 22. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 4-4. Paschal won 23-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Kennedale (Kennedale, TX)
