Florida High School Flag Football - Newsome over Wharton

February 22, 2025: Tampa, FL 33647

The crowd at Saturday's non-league contest between the Newsome Wolves (Lithia, FL) and the host Wharton Wildcats (Tampa, FL), witnessed Newsome's flag football squad knock off Wharton by a tally of 26-13.

The Wolves (3-1) will now prepare for their contest against Lennard (Ruskin, FL). The Longhorns enter the 2A D8 contest with a 2-0 record. In their last contest, Lennard gained a win over Plant City (Plant City, FL), 41-0, in a non-league contest.

Coming up next, the Wildcats battle the Alonso Ravens (Tampa, FL) in a non-league contest, on Monday, February 24. Wharton will attempt to better on its 1-1 season record. The Ravens enter the contest with a 3-0 record after their 34-0 non-league win over Mandarin (Jacksonville, FL).
