Mt. Eden Monarchs (Hayward, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Miramonte Matadors (Orinda, CA), 16-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Monarchs now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Mission San Jose for a non-league challenge on Friday, February 25.

With the loss, Miramonte falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Matadors host Salesian College Preparatory (Richmond, CA) to battle the Pride in a non-league challenge on Friday, February 25. The Pride enter the challenge with a record of 1-0. Salesian College Preparatory won 12-7 in their recent non-league challenge against Justin-Siena (Napa, CA)
